Service Description

Workshop Details Instructor: TBA Schedule: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of every month Time: 7 PM - 9 PM Schedule: 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month Time: 9 AM - 11 AM Class Size: 6 Students Price: $65 per person Have you always wanted to try the pottery wheel but weren't sure where to begin? Our Introduction to the Pottery Wheel is designed as a taste of the wheel—a relaxed, two-hour experience that introduces you to the fundamentals of wheel throwing without the commitment of a multi-week course. This is not an in-depth instructional class, but rather an introduction and "taste tester" experience that allows you to become comfortable with the wheel and discover whether you'd like to continue your pottery journey in our comprehensive Foundations on the Pottery Wheel course. During class, you'll receive three balls of clay to practice the essential techniques of wheel throwing. Pottery takes time and repetition to master, so this class is designed to encourage exploration rather than perfection. Most students will complete one to two finished pieces, which will be professionally glazed in one of Clay Rose Pottery's signature studio glazes, fired, and ready for pickup in approximately 3–4 weeks. Who Can Attend? Ages 10 years and up. Younger children may participate only with instructor approval if they demonstrate the maturity, focus, and coordination needed to safely use a pottery wheel. For most younger artists, we recommend our Parent & Child  Workshop, specially designed for children and families to create together. What's Included Three balls of clay Opportunity to create 1–2 finished ceramic pieces Use of pottery wheel and studio tools Personalized instruction in a class of six students Bisque and glaze firing Studio-selected glaze Apron during class Continue Your Journey If you fall in love with the wheel, our 4-Week Foundations on the Pottery Wheel course is the perfect next step, where you'll learn trimming, glazing, handles, mugs, bowls, cylinders, and the techniques needed to confidently create functional pottery from start to finish. At Clay Rose Pottery, we believe creativity grows one piece at a time. This introductory experience is simply the first step in discovering whether the pottery wheel is a craft you'll fall in love with.
